John Robinson, the author of Nobody’s Child spoke at the Canobolas Christian Men’s Fellowship Breakfast in June 2007. He was in Australia to visit a number of prisons and speak with the inmates. John had a rough start to life. Born to alcoholic parents he never knew, at the age of 16 he had lived in 10 different placements. At fourteen he was sent to a detention centre for arson. Gravitating towards a life of crime, he moved from the streets to a psychiatric hospital – a scarred, broken, and angry young man.Yet God had plans for John. Now his youth bus ministry travels the toughest parts of Manchester with the gospel.
Nobody’s Child tells the story of John’s childhood and his introduction to Jesus. John’s second book Somebody’s Child was released in June 2007 and tells the story of his bus ministry.
I went to the Men’s breakfast at the Mountain Teahouse in July where John Robinson spoke. He is a very unassuming speaker but he packed a punch. He has been used by God to reach out to many street kids in UK. This could be very helpful in Orange where street kids are on the increase. God provided his means and he was blessed as he stepped out in faith with his bus going into hard crime-ridden areas and finding the needy kids there and rescuing them with the Gospel message. Inspiring!
John is a brilliant guy who i’ve had the priviledge of knowing for a few years. His story has touched many, his testimony has led to others having one of their own because they were inspired by how he changed!
I met John and Soul Survivor and bought his books. Read the first one already and it was great. Will shortly be starting the second one.
